What time do I have to show up to get a poster at MSG? I really want to make sure I get one for this show. I'm sick of paying $100+ for posters on ebay months later! I was so jealous of everyone that got a poster at DC...I was way too late to get one there.

I plan on being online by 6. I'm figuring that should do it. If I have nothing to do, I'll be on a little earlier. I got a DC poster easily from being online at 6:10.

Do you mean on internet? Or actually in line at the venue. I wasn't aware posters were available online if that is what you meant. I am under the impression you have to be physically at the venue to get a poster tomorrow. I also thought you had to get in line way earlier to get a poster.

i think he means in line, or on line as in "waiting on line" not online as in the internet.

Whats the tube deal? Is my poster gonna get crushed during the show or are they giving out tubes at these shows with poster purchase?

I am sick of buyingn mine on ebay too but im expecting thats what I will wind up doing

They give you a bracelet. You purchase a bracelet with a number. After the show is over, you go to Merchandise and they snip your bracelet for a poster. No bracelet, no poster! This worked out great for me at Camden!

I hope there isn't a repeat situation with the vendors like in 2003 where they bought all the posters before the doors opened.

It would be funny to see all the food vendors serving beers and hotdogs with poster bracelets on. Fuckers.

oh man, that is great! I totally missed that in 06...wtf

I might still try tonight just since it seems like nailing them at the 10c sale is almost as difficult as getting them at the show.

I didn't get in until after 8pm bracelets were gone no posters. The kicker is they still had posters left but wouldn't sell them. NO BRACELET NO POSTER!

thats actually kind of neat. Could lead to more being available in the online 10c sale later.

Who is "they"? The merch people? You go to the merch stand and you buy a bracelet before the show? That's the dealio?

I like it. That way, your poster doesn't get trashed during the concert. No need for the tube after all!

yeah... buy a bracelet ($25) from the merch people before the show, return to same merch booth after the show, merch person cuts your bracelet and gives you a fresh, not-rolled-up poster. no tube necessary!

there is another thread that says it

the merchandise booth selling all the posters was not inside the arena. So it opened independently from the doors to the show (opened at 5 I believe).

You did not have to be in the show to buy a poster, and so they sold out (according to the merch guy) by 5:30

    sigh....ebay.....sigh

someday they will add a checkbox to your 10c ticket purchase that says "purchase limited edition concert poster" and it will be much easier...until then the madness continues

I bought my poster sometime around 5.15 yesterday at the merch tables in front of the ticket office. When you purchase the poster, PJ Merch Person places a wristband on you. You must return to the same stand where you bought the poster in order to claim it after the show.

Poster tubes are not provided by PJ Merch Persons. I saw fans buying tubes at nearby Staples stores and they were allowed to carry them in to the show. They did offer plastic shopping bags for the poster if you wanted one.

    Hope that helps.

The bracelet idea is great, but it's actually not that great that the merch booth is only outside, b/c it makes it possible for people who aren't even that interested in them, i.e., who wish simply to resell them, to buy them. The bracelet/poster operation should move inside, or be made so that at least you must show a ticket to buy a poster from the outside merch booth ... that way people wouldn't have to get there at 5 o'clock. I expected to be able to get a bracelet from an indoor booth, and was disappointed.

I totally agree with you....but knowing MSG this isn't going to change...so I suggest to anyone that is going tonight to get there and get your bracelet. I'm leaving work at 4 to head down there to get my bracelet. It does suck....but it is what it is.

i anticipate people showing up MUCH earlier this afternoon at MSG but having said that i think venue security, seeing the cluster of poster hounds hanging around, is simply going to kick everyone back away from the merch area so it'll be interesting to see whether collectively the group of fans waiting around can form a line to purchase posters without any arguing/line-cutting,...should be interesting to witness the drama 1st hand ;)
