I feel like this is the immediate arrival of birds landing on songs
escape is their lives
they are the sun
they are the air
they are the pines
(ours to know this too)
in the morning, as natural as dew
first breath of the mountains
drawn like we were last night
surrounded
underneath you, lifting
and holding
your arms out
underneath me
surrounded
you

the thick feel of that sound
pierced only near the top
by the sweet song of birds
I want you to sleep as hard as you like
