I am sure that some of you have seen these videos before, but before today, I had not.

These are the videos of R.E.M.'s last live performance (That I am aware of) as a band. They are playing songs from their last studio album "Collapse Into Now". The songs are performed brilliantly. It's after watching videos like these that I really wish that I would've seen R.E.M. in concert. I have really fallen in love with this band and I especially love this album. I wish there were videos of every song from the album available, but these are all I could find. "Uberlin", "It Happened Today", "Walk It Back", "That Someone Is You", "Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando And I", and "Blue" are unavailable. The rest are here and they are magical. Enjoy.

Saw this before, its terrific stuff. I think the performance of "Discoverer" is the final live performance and you can see it from the expression of Stipe when the song ends - truly the end of a fantastic era.

One of the all time great bands. Really gutted i never got to see them play live.

As far as I know you are right that Discoverer was the last song they ever played. And I have agree that you can really hear and see the emotion of that final performance shining through. It's sad that their career is over. I really love the last two albums and it really feels like R.E.M. still had magic up their sleeves, but I am glad they were able to go out on their own terms. They just sounded so good during these recordings...

there are no words for how truly great and insanely influential these guys are/were. I was listening to Finest Worksong and a few others on record the other day and was really thinking about them. what a catalog.

was lucky enough to see them in 2001 on the same stage as Pearl Jam in Seattle and then again in 2008 with Modest Mouse and The National opening for them. they played country feedback. it was amazing.

    RIP REM

    fantastic music.
