The hemp solution to cotton prices.

Having exhausted all possibility of finding jeans in local thrift stores, I broke down and went to the outlets stores today for new Levi's. I was in for a shock- the regular price for 501's is currently $60, the outlet price $50 and the sale price, if you buy two, is $40 (which mean shelling out 80 bucks plus tax.)
I did some research and discovered drought in India is much to blame- they are restricting cotton exports. But I ask- why do we need cotton from India when we could be growing shit loads of hemp right here and making good clothes from plants that nitrogen-fix the soil and use far fewer chemicals in the growing process. Are we crazy or what???

Hey, I noticed this too. I refuse to wear jeans that aren't Levi's... Nothing else feels good on me (hate on me all you want)
Very pricey...
Hemp is a great alternative, one that we should use. It's good for everything from clothing to ship rope...0 -
