Euro media outlets are reporting that Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe was arrested in the Czech Republic resulting from a 2010 incident in which a fan died.

Blythe was arrested June 29 shortly before the band was to play Prague’s Hard Rock Café, according to London’s Sun newspaper.

Yesterday’s arrest stems from an incident that occurred at the Abaton nightclub two years ago in which a fan reportedly died from injuries occurred after jumping on stage. Prague authorities claim Blythe was responsible for the fan’s injuries and resulting death.

“We have arrested the singer and charged him with the crime of bodily harm of fourth degree and resulting in the death of a fan,” a Prague police statement said, according to the Sun.

Although Lamb Of God’s management issued a brief message saying an “official statement” would be released Monday, it took issue with media outlets’ reporting on the arrest, saying “no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages” and that it “would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos.

“Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head.”

Currently touring Europe, Lamb Of God is scheduled to play the With Full Force Festival in Roitzschjora, Germany today, and the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Helsinki, Finland, Sunday.

if he pushed him back into the audience and he allegedly fell and his head at this point, wouldn't the crowd have broken his fall?

Could have been one of those situations where the sea parted, so to speak. I've seen stage dives where the crowd was just like "fuck that" and just got out of the way.

The story did say the guy climbed over a barricade, could be there was space between the barricade and the stage. I hate to post a humorous pic in a thread in which somebody actually died, but it could have been a situation like this...

Yeah that stuff happens all the time. My hubby put on a fest last summer and they specifically told everyone no stagediving, but of course kids still did it. Unfortunately one kid dove off the stage and no one caught him...he went to the hospital and now he'll probably be paralyzed for life. The whole thing is crazy now, the parents want to sue my hubby and the venue...luckily the venue's insured for this kind of thing...but at what point does it become the person who's diving off the stage's responsibility?!

It's crazy how out of control this can get... I'm just glad in my day when I was young it was all about mosh pits and knocking the shit out of each other, at least that way you didn't have to far to fall when you did... awww miss those old Pantera days.. When your young and got that energy and rage and that band comes on stage and starts rocking, sometimes you loose control..... Friends need to look out for friends....
