I had to replace a broken toilet valve last night.

I pull the old one out and put the new one in. Just under a half hour. Nice.

Turn on the supply. Tank is filling. Nice.

Test flush. The tank is NOT filling again. Fuck.

Turn off the supply. Turn it back on. Nothing.

To make a long story short, I had to go back to the store, return the defective valve and buy a new one. And the girl at the returns desk gave me a hassle about it. "Oh, I dunno if I can take toilet parts back because of sanitary reasons..."

Anyway, my half-hour repair job turned into a 4-hour effort. But at least my toilet is working...

    as far as I know.
