Anyone recommend a killer live version of this off a buyable bootleg? Thanks.

Seen the band four times now and still not seen them play it. One day (fingers crossed).

    they opened Mansfield night 1 with it in 2008. that's a pretty solid version.

    They dont play it too often. I am at 10 shows with no luck too.

    I second Chicago 09. I wasn't the biggest fan of that song until I heard it live and now I can't believe how idiotic I was. That's the beauty of a great live band, you don't know until you hear it with your own ears. I might even like Bugs someday. The door is always open.

    Hard to Imagine is in my top 5 Pearl Jam songs. Took me nearly 40 shows to hear it for the first time (Gorge 2005). It was awesome. I've been fortunate to hear it a few more times, in 2005 and 2008. For me, the absolute best version is from Philly 2005. Phenomenal show. You should check it out. The build up to the end if the song and Mike's little solo at the end... Pure bliss.

    I agree, that Philly 05 version was awesome, it came out of nowhere. I also liked it as an opener in 08.

    I wish I could get a soundboard quality boot of the 9/6/98 Knoxville Tn show. I have seen HtI a few times now, but that performance was epic.

    I was thinking the same thing... i extended my run to Knoxville because I had a feeling that we were due for a treat on this leg of the 1998 tour. It was my first time hearing my favorite song and it is still my favorite performance. This was back when it was truly rare to hear it.... I was also in attendance at Chicago 2009 and seeing/hearing it as the set opener was almost as awesome.
