    Now see it's this type of attitude that makes me hesitant to party with y'all in Montana. Out west, it isn't even considered a party UNTIL someone has died...

    "Tanke told police he got in a fight with Johnston earlier in the week and punched her several times in the face, but a pathologist told police Johnston’s death was not a homicide."

    This is awful, but I pictured this as having happened after she died.

    An aside - I wonder if his last name is pronounced Tank or Tank-ee. Maybe Tahn-kay?

    Sweet lord. And this even the first time it's happened in the Chicagoland area! I remember covering a story very similar to this about seven years ago, except the dude actually did kill his girl (with a Kung-fu chop, no less) and proceded to use her ATM card to get cash to buy drugs he would then use on the bed next to the body. Sigh.

    "Court records show Tanke was homeless." Well, at least he's not homeless anymore.
