  • that was my first pearl jam show, and i was blown away. i was particularly surprised that the audience (myself included) sang every word from beginning to end. that april, one of my best friends (who bought tickets with me) was struck and killed by a train, so my brother and i ended up going to the show without him, so in his memory, we had the ticket man tear his ticket anyway. so while it was an amazing show, it was bitterweet for me.
look into the eyes of the fallen.....you got to know there's another..another..another..another..way.

I remember this show because the 10c overboked the sept. 10 show so ended up sending me tickets to the 9/11 show. Turns out I was first row between ed and stone. This might have been the sickest show ever! It makes the '03 shows look like a french poodle in a hurricane.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I worked backstage at this gig. MSG used to be "my house". Gave my good tickets to a friend.

Two days earlier in NJ I was front row center chucking "may I play drums with you" signs at Ed. Anyone have a boot of that NJ show where Ed is talking to me? :)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

I was at the show the night before, 9/10/98. I had floor seats and was pretty close, this show does not get alot of respect for a couple of reasons, #1 it was short and #2 the f#cked up on All those Yesterdays. However I still feel it was a good show (not the best I've been to, but not the worst).

    Here's the set list:

Set 1 Long Road, Corduroy, Brain Of J., Last Exit, Given To Fly, Animal, Dissident, Jeremy, Daughter/(Mother), Even Flow, In Hiding, I Got Id, Better Man, Do The Evolution, All Those Yesterdays, Alive
Encore 1 Wishlist, Rearviewmirror, Hail Hail, Black, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Fuckin' Up
    Encore 2 Soldier Of Love

Long Road was one of the best versions I've heard, the stage set up this tour was the best with the torches and clouds behind. Jeremy played here was the best version I've heard, and I've heard both the original and "new" versions played and this night was the most intense version of Jeremy I've heard live. They screw up all those Yesterdays but again the next song Alive had the coolest chant with the crowd of any Pearl Jam concert I've ever been to, the Yeah-Yeah-Yeah chants from the crowd and Eddie Pumping his fist along with them was amazing. I was disappointed with the last song, Mike started up Yellow Ledbetter but Eddie stops him, they talk for a minute or two then play Soldier of Love. Nice song but not a song to end the night with.

Other highlights, this was night #2 of the "Breath" signs, which began at the Meadowlands the night before. Ed made mention of the signs and how impressed he was, but said Stone forgot how to play it. Besides the Breath signs the big side act was the Kenn Star files that ended up on stage. that was a realy funny bit. Ed mentioning he took viagra etc..
