    Thank you so much everyone for the birthday wishes, I really appreciate it!

    Today was difficult, it also marks the one-year passing of my mom, so it was bittersweet. I celebrated my birthday with my dad and sis on Saturday, so we were able to really have today to honor my mom.

    It's a very strange thing to contend with emotionally, having watched her pass on my birthday. I envision it will take years to come to terms with it all. But as Winston Churchill said, "If you're going through hell, keep going."

    So I march forward...and the best gift I have is the love and support of family and good friends.
