Anyone ever have or known someone who had jaw surgery?

I'm having double jaw surgery performed on Tuesday and as the time is getting closer my nerves are getting higher. I think I'm more nervous about what to expect afterwards other than lots of pain and swelling - the pain part I hope to alleviate with medicine.

Have any jammers been where I'm going before? I'm having surgery to correct an underbite where they'll move my top jaw forward and bottom jaw back.

    I had a friend in college who had something similar. Surgery went well. Pain was managed pretty well.
    Recovery went well too. Couldn't eat solids for a while and therefore lost some weight.

    One of my managers flew off her bike and busted her jaw really bad. Mouth was wired shut for like a month!! :shock: Not the same, but still... :o

    Make sure you buy a Magic Bullett!! Was a life saver when my teen had her wisdom teeth pulled then braces put on....

    my son will be having this surgery in a few years (we have to wait until his jaw is finished growing). Sounds like a pretty routine thing, though, so I wouldn't be worried.

    sounds like a big deal to me. i'd be flippin out myself. stay strong and meditative like. i know a thing or two about ppl fighting and jaws breaking.

    my brother broke a couple dudes' jaws before. bam smackola...smoked jaw
    not cool.

    guy #1. a dude's wife can cause a fucker to hurt ppl who wanna fuck around when they should be quiet
    guy #2. again... stupid person who was bullying and thought he was tough got punched so hard he was launched & flew backwards through the air and was unconscious before hitting the floor next to the pool table then knocked that dude's friend's teeth out outside in the parking-lot

    2... count em - 2
    2 broken jaws - 2 dumb people...if you can call em ppl
    1 dude... Dut

    he had to pay one of guy's hospital bill...guy #1 jaw rebuilding work thousands of dollars

    I had a bunch of scar tissue removed from my jaw couldn't open it for about a month lost a bunch of weight. Like any surgery it sucks not going to church it up for you. If you do "alternative" meds look into foods smoking may do something to your area so check with your doc about any kind of smoking.
