Very sad to see how Alzheimers is effecting him...he is doing some farewell shows this summer.

This is the first video from his recent album....Paul Westerberg has a cameo appearance (he wrote the song) at the end of the video. Early in the video, there is a homage to the Replacements "Bastards of the Young" video, which was simply footage of a fella listening to the song onhis home stereo.

The new video features Josh Homme

I just heard the news.  This is very saddening.  What a great song writer, a fine musician/guitarist.

Good thoughts for his family and friends and his buddy Paul who I'm sure is having a bit of a rough time with this.  Very sad.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

  • saw him about 3 years ago live for the ghost on the canvas tour. back then it had been recently announced about this f'n terrible illness that he had. we noticed it when he actually forgot his daughter's name when introducing his band members! all in all it was a great show and u r correct brian a great guitar player. so many great songs. a treasure.
glen's last cd he named. adios. classic!
lastly i gotta say this disease is one of the worst ways to die. i just can't imagine going through a wonderful full rich and rewarding life he had and then in the last few years can remember his kid's name. sure wish they had a cure for this disease.
    RIP GC
