I'd be at the fesival if I could but this will be good for keeping in touch... :)
I noticed the TV trailer never mentioned any of the headline acts which is odd, you'd think that would be the first ones they'd mention..
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
    Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12
  • They have been doing hour long specials of previous shows over the last few nights. Last year they covered headliners quite well so hopefully there will be some good coverage.

They did an almost complete set show for the Hyde Park gig in 2010.

Orkney's a long way from the Isle of Wight, but with the 86mph winds that they had there last week, you'd be home-from-home! :)
    - I did the Stromness triathlon a few years back, boy it was windy!!!

Haha! Yeah it gets windy here indeed, we had 140mph a few months ago so I laugh in the face of 86mph!
We're so used to trying to balance on windy days that when it's calm we over-compensate and fall on our faces...

There are several different adverts on the go.

Some have just Springsteen, some have all the trendy shiz and others have PJ mentioned.

Sky Arts is a great channel. And the bonus of it being prefixed with Sky means repeat, after repeat, after repeat.

    Hello out there!
Does anyone know what time is planned for PJ to hit the stage?
Cant find times on the festival page.
Will there be a live broadcast?
Can it be seen on the internet from outside the uk?
    Thanks for answers!

As somebody else said, they have been rerunning previous headline shows, but they're not two hours long! I told them if they're showing the highlights then they must be showing the whole thing :p

  • Haha, softens the blow of not going!

apparently it's even worse at Springsteen in Manchester. There's a mini twitter campaign asking him to play Lost in the Flood :D

If the coverage of Tom Petty is to go by, dont hold your breath. Currently 11:30, only half hour left of the tv show and not seen any Tom Petty at all. Just highlights of other shitty bands. Based on this Im kind of expecting them to show highlights of 2/3 songs max tomorrow, which will probably be Alive, Even Flow & Corduroy (assuming they'll play them) and no live footage.

Just found this on You Tube so I think a little bit (a song or two?) may end up on here:

So pissed off that Rupert Murdoch gets the rights to the Isle of Wight festival. Didn't it used to be on Channel 4? Not all of us have Sky TV and more and more programmes are going over to them...

There was an IOW programme on sky 1 this afternoon and the bloke from Gavin and Stacy was reading out twitter questions. One of them was 'how much of the headliners will you show?'', his answer was as much as the headliner lets them. I'm guessing Petty didnt want it going out live last night. Hopefully PJ will, they let the whole of Reading 2006 be broadcast.

I just gave the exact same answer to my brother this afternoon, not that i'm taking anything for granted, but i hope to expect a few more songs than tom petty last night.
