Porch from Atlanta 4/3/1994
let the song protest

Alright, I know a lot of us already think this is easily one of the best shows the band ever played (if not the best), and I've listened to this show what seems like hundreds of times. It's been a while though, and I was listening to it the other day and OMG I'd forgotten how absolutely stunning Porch was from this show. It's just EPIC. The long breakdown has to be one of the best I've ever heard. Mike and Stone are just out of control on this one.
To those of you who were at that show - hail hail to the lucky ones :-)
I know this was a radio broadcast so we all have great recordings of it that we've downloaded or purchased years ago in bootleg format, but I do hope they release it from the Vault someday, just because it's such a monumental show in the band's history.

Agreed. I also love how they charge into the bridge of the song - it's aggressive and fast, but totally in control also. Just powerful, extremely strong all around. That entire show is unbelievable.0 -

I think this is why so many people think this is one of their best shows. Yes, it is great, but there are many that are just as good or better from the same tour.6/26/98, 8/17/00, 10/8/00, 12/8/02, 12/9/02, 4/25/03, 5/28/03, 6/1/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 6/6/03, 6/12/03, 6/13/03, 6/15/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 10/3/04, 10/5/04, 9/9/05, 9/11/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/19/06, 6/30/06, 7/23/06, 8/5/07, 6/30/08, 8/23/09, 8/24/09, 5/4/10, 5/7/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/11/13, 10/17/14, 8/20/160 -

This is the DEFINITIVE Porch. I remember when this release came out, and I heard it. I was blown away. It was my favourite song after that for a long time. Then in '96 they played it in Cork (my first ever PJ show) and we were not let down. Not quite as intense, but still was mega!
In fact, just looked at the Cork set again. They went into the break ending with Porch and came back out with I got ID (how i wish i remember that), only Porch remains in my head (damn you beer, damn you to hell!!)
Hope they play an epic version on this tour!RDS Dublin - Aug 26 1995 (Neil Young with Pearl Jam)

One of my favorite shows ever.
Anybody else sit at home that night with a couple of blank tapes recording it off the radio and anxiously hoping that the end of each side of the tape would hit in between songs so you wouldn't miss any of the music? Anyone? Anyone?0 -
This is the show where Eddie had a mannequin (dummy) dressed like him, Cincinnati Bengals helmet and all, that he threw off the rafters to make it look like he jumped and fell...during this song. Eddie claims only one guy in the audience saw it go down.
Who here was at the show?? Did you see any video cameras anywhere? This must be one of, if not the most sought-after PJ video out there...if it existed.Ed...buddy...pal...stay true to your word and play Boise again.
