pick-ups for a classical guitar

I am thinking about putting a pick-up in my classical guitar. Does anyone have any thoughts on this...do they work and sound ok...I really love nylon strings and they suit the songs and style I play, so would prefer to do this rather than buy a steel stringed guitar, as long as it will work ok???
