That sucks.
I love Seattle so much - hate to see that kind of shit going down, and obviously how awful for the victims.

I read about this earlier - sounds like Seattle's had much in the way of crimes and shootings lately.

    Those poor folks.

    sad stuff.

the shooter's family had said that he was not a happy guy and that they thought that something like this might happen...

my sympathies to the victims and their friends and families...

and to add to my post, i never understand why people pick up a gun and waste a bunch of innocent people only then to go and shoot themselves as well...

it seems like such a waste of life to shoot several innocent people, go to a different location and shoot another one in the head and steal their car, only to kill yourself after all of that...

seriously, if you want to die, kill yourself and leave everyone else the hell out of it. if you want out, go it alone and don't take anybody else with you.

They should face manslaughter charges then unless they can prove they took steps to intervene.

i am guessing they are angry at society ... and that they want society to pay for his perceived slights ...

That isn't how law works. Also, I don't understand your nature/nurture comment. That wasn't a direct quote from his family. I'm sure they knew he had issues and were worred about him, but I'm sure they didn't know he was going to commit a mass murder. I feel terrible for the shooter's family too - what a nightmare. Not fair to blame them like you just tried to.

If the family didn't say it, then no big deal. What I referenced implied they did know he might do this someday.

Even if they did worry he might really snap, that is a hindsight is 20/20 moment. Unless he told them the plan or they read it in his diary or something, all they could have known was that he was losing it. Families don't go running to the police when they are worried about a family member maybe losing his grip. They can just hope, things get better and possibly do what they can to help, and if that help is refused they go into the 'i don't know what to do' mode. They don't call the cops and say I think maybe my weirdo family member isn't a very happy guy and I dunno, he might do something some time. What are the cops going to do about that?. It's not the minority report, lol.

I'm not saying they had to go to the police at some point if they knew he had the capacity to possibly do this. But going to mental health doctors, psychiatry, anger management courses ... something to show the tried to help him.

If you have a pitbull that is known to be aggressive and it escapes out of an obvious hole in your fence and mauls an eight year old, you will be found liable. So why no foul if you have an aggressive child.

As it pertains to this case, the shooter was 40 and his family had urged him to get help. No foul.

Yeah, if you're talking about children, of course. But not adults.
PS - anyone who even breeds pit bulls should be criminally charged.

Don't worry, when I become Supreme Leader of the United States of Jason P, they are on the top of my list for eradication. ;)

Hey, pits are typically as aggressive as they're raised to be! Much like with people... ;)
