too much skin in the middle east

I remember a debate over middle eastern women having to remove their head and face covering here in the United States and now in UAE someone is complaining that tourest show too much skin...now I have to laugh just a little at this...I think when a person moves to or visits another country they should respect that countrys customes and not force their own countrys customs on the country the visit or move to.

When I was in my 20s, I did one of those European tour things - you know, a shitload of countries packed into a really short time.
(It was spectacular and life-changing.)
When visiting some of the churches in Italy and Spain, we were asked to respect the clothing customs within those places. I did so; it wasn't a sacrifice for me, plus I was a visitor and knew what the culture was like before I went there. It would've been nice if others I was with had done the same, but to force it? Wrong, to me.
By the same token, at my father's funeral, the rabbi (who was a smug asshole - a term I never thought I'd apply to someone supposed to be so...learned and respected) gave my guy shit for not wearing a yarmulke inside the temple. I told the rabbi I didn't think my dad or god would give a flying fuck about what was or wasn't on someone's head.
