John Frusciante Solo Work

So I recently saw RHCP live for the first time without Frusciante and they just weren't nearly the same in my opinion. The extra percussionist was kinda cool, but unnecessary in my opinion. They also had a DJ on stage? Not sure what he was doing as I couldn't pick up many scratches or background sounds. But I guess they just felt the need to fill out their sound more since Josh, while talented, can't do what John did.

ANYWAY, I revisited Frusciante's solo stuff and, unlike my first time through it, I am falling in love. This led me to check into some of his vinyl availability and I was kind of shocked to see prices in the hundreds on ebay/amazon. I was wondering if anyone had any extra copies or anything they would be willing to sell or possibly trade?

Thanks!!!!

My friend introduced to me Frusciante's solo stuff in my freshman year of college and I instantly could tell he is the most talented one in RHCP. I will admit some of his stuff is not that good, but their are a few excellent albums, and his guitar work is genius.

Oh he is a genius in my opinion, easily one of my favorite guitarists. You are right, some of his stuff is hit or miss, but a good chunk of it is excellent in my opinion, when he gets into some of the more electronica type stuff he kinda loses me tho. I would love to get my hands on a vinyl or two.

To Record Only Water For Ten Days is my favourite. If you listen to any of his albums for a few years either side of this release you'll find plenty to like... :D

+1 to To Record Only Water for Ten Days. Kinda like his most recent solo album The Empyrean. I also really like Shadows Collide With People. I'm not sure if it's still up, but they posted an entire version of that album on his site that's just him solo acoustic. Love listening to that.

I think the DJ that you're thinking of is actually a guy that adds keys to their sound. He plays behind the stacks and you can see him rocking out to "Give It Away" a lot.

I like Josh. He adds a different element than John. He's also played on a lot of John's solo stuff.

my favourite is DC, and it only has 4 songs... though my fav is Scratches, from Inside of Emptiness

Yesterday I listen to Curtains, it's the one I listen most...

I like better the Acoustic Version For The Songs Of Shadows than Shadows Collide With People...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...
