The dude who did this good deed is from Greece and called Athanasios Tsaklas. He could be a Pearl Jam fan (actually he can), but he is the frontman of the Greek band The Wigs (http://www.thewigsband.com/). Please ignore the Greek words and music and focus on the powerful and colourful pictures. And first and foremost admire what this Greek dude achieved all alone. :o :corn:

15 Countries:

1) Italy
2) Switzerland
3) France
4) Luxembourg
5) Belgium
6) Holland
7) Germany
8) Czech Republic
9) Austria
10) Slovakia
11) Hungary
12) Romania
13) Serbia
14) Bulgaria

Here's some videos from his band:

Man O man THAT'S something i would love to do fo sure. That's an experience you will remember for a lifetime. Grow a full beard like in the NHL playoffs, film the ride but I couldn't do it without a helmet like that guy. Drawbacks would the language barriers in the various countries and hauling your own gear.

The closest I came to anything like that was riding from Boston to NYC and a couple rides from the hills of Raleigh NC to DC. ALL awesome trips but riding a foreign country is a whole other story. THanks for the post....I'm glad he made it back without any apparent major injuries.

First of all, you don't need to have a beard to do this. :) Secondly, he might wear a helmet during his journey. You just saw an abstract of the whole journey. But, I agree with you: Safety first. And last but not least, the English language is a universal language. It's inevitable to meet someone in a foreign country - whose native language isn't English - who knows English words such as Good morning etc. :) Even if you aren't lucky enough to meet somebody like the aforementioned guy, you can always communicate using the "body language". I mean gestures. Not to mention that you can also learn some new words during this experience. ;)

I don't know if you think I'm knocking his trip or THE trip in anyway I'm not. This is something I would do in a heartbeat and would love to do once the kids are gone off to school. I dream of doing something like that in foreign countries in every continent.....one of the best ways to see other parts of the world while execising in one of my favorite sports pedaling a bicycle.

The whole experience would be awesome for me. :)8-):)

I never saw it that way. I just wanted to encourage you more. But as I can see, you've already had some miles under your pedals. So... ;)

It's ALL good thanks, but before that trip in a FOREIGN land starting with a route of the Tour De France. I must conquer the big lake here in Florida Lake Okeechobee 116 miles circumference.
