I have been listening to several different versions of this the last few days. Very emotional and inspirational. Someone please relate to this.

The original does not touch my soul... Ed's rendition does (of course, like most covers)

    It's a very reassuring song.

It's Ok.... everything is gonna be ok..

    (chorus)
It's okay, we've all seen better days
    It's okay, you don't have
    to run and hide away
    It's okay
It's okay, yeah we love you anyway

    For in those reckless moments
When doubt is creeping in your head
Feeling like you've lost your youth
And the dreams you had are cold and dead
    I can't reach you anymore
That's gonna take a different man
I can't protect you like before
    You've slipped beyond my hands
    But it's okay.......

I wish that I could light the path
That leads to a life of no mistakes
Hold you from the damned be done
That living out of safety seems to take
I remember still the child in you
    As if only yesterday
It was easy to break through
I only had to kiss the pain
    But it's okay.......

This is my chance, this is my life
    And my opening hour
This is my choice, this is my voice
    There may be no tomorrow
This is my plea, this is my need
This is my time for standing free
This is my step, this is my depth
In a world demanding of me
    But is's okay.......

One of the tags/songs that really don't give me much! I don't get all the hype about it. I'd rather hear the Wrong Child tag again!

as much as I love this cannot believe there are 2 threads about it on page one at the moment! :?
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!

Thanks D!! LOVE this...I remember almost losing my mind at PJ20 with the first strum of Stone's guitar as they morphed into "It's OK" Hearing that crowd sing with the band was spine-chilling!!

I think we can all relate to this one! Definitely one of my go-to songs (tags?) when I need a little musical pep-talk :) I'm positive it's helped a lot of us through various situations! Love this song, would be a joy to hear it live and sing along!

This is ironic. I have watched so many versions of this on you tube this whole week. The one from Jones Beach and PJ20 in particular. I don't know why but it is just hitting home with me every time.

  • I totally relate. I've said it before (see link below), but I think that the It's Ok tag from Jones Beach in 2000 is, and this is no exaggeration, my favorite piece of music by any band, ever.

I love the tag. My favorite version, with an unreal sing along by the fans, is from the Cleveland show in May of '06. I was lucky to be there and have played this at least a gajillion times especially when I've tied a nice one on.

No video, but here's the amazing audio:

Wow! I have been exploring this song as well this week! Listening to PJ20 tag with Daughter...glad to see other versions Ill listen to today! It is amazing how a blimp in a catalogue of 20+ years can suddenly just spark a feeling...and it looks like I am not the only one.

The Gorge version started this post. It seems at the time, it was just as important for them to hear "It's OK". Gorge version got me going back to PJ20 version, Virginia Beach... I would say this carries as much power as a tag could.

I was at Jones Beach 2000 and they did this after Daughter. I think its on Touring Band 2000 DVD. I remember it was like only the 2nd or 3rd time ever done and I remember Ed comming out on stage with some papers and reading while he sang it. It was a very awesome moment. So glad to have been there. :D

This tag makes me cry about 1 in 3 times from hearing it. Dependent on my mind and state.

I can't listen to the Alpine boot because this song is on it. I didn't well up during it at Alpine, but ball like a baby now.

I can absolutely relate and know this song is from Eds heart to all of us. He wants us to know it is okay to be who/whatever we are in this world.

    Thanks Ed, I'm okay.

I'm there. One of my faves that really gets to me (of course my list of fave PJ songs is long, but still! Love it!).
