I love Toadies, the only thing that bothered me about them was that they were always "about to break up". In the late 90's and early 00's they were constantly in Farewell Mode. I went to their "Farewell Concert", then a year or so later went to another "Farewell Concert", then a year or two later was asked by a friend who had tickets if I wanted to go to their "Farewell Concert" with him. And when they finally actually did break up, it only lasted 4 years, and they were back together, albeit with lineup changes. They were like the Brett Favre's of rock music.

Well on their "break up" here is how I understood the story. Interscope had completely just lost interest in the Toadies- and completeley rejected Feeler. Feeler was supposed to have come out in 1997 or 1998. The band was told to go re record the songs and start from scratch. That offering became Hell Below/ Stars Above.

During the promotion for the record the label didn't really do any promoting- so Lisa decided she wanted to leave. VTL thought the band couldn't continue without her as she was a founding member. They started the band at a Sound Warehouse at which they both worked at.

Mark Hughes of Baboon (Dallas local band) was brought in to finish the tour. They did play small club shows in 2002 here and there, but Vaden Todd Lewis had already begain playing with other friends which endede up leading to a trip to Seattle, WA and then coming home and forming the Burden Brothers with Taz Bentley of Rev Horton Heat. That was Vaden's main focus from 2003- 2006. The Toadies did reunite as an annervasary thing in 2006- a one off- as a thank you to the Dallas Observer and played their annual St. Patty's day festival.

Burden Brothers were finishing Mercy and touring, all through 2006- 2007. The Toadies did play a few shows in Dallas, Houston, and Austin because that St. Patricks show was 21+

Burden Brothers disbanded after Mercy - I think because of financial disagreements.

Vaden had started what was to possibly become a solo record. Those songs sounded more Toadies to him, and called Clark, and Mark Rez up. Then they went in studio, and recorded what became: " No deliverance."

"Feeler" was also re recorded once the holding rights via interscope were expired. The band was not able to get the original recordings back, but could re record them on a new label which is what they did.

I will definitely go to the Houston House of Blues show. Love the Toadies. Saw them at ACL in 2009 and they were awesome live.

Are the Toadies closing the shows with Helmet? I know they are both playing full sets, I'm just curious.

As of now I'm going to hit up the concert in Indy, and hopefully they still end up announcing a show in Cincinnati so I don't have to make a road trip.

It appears Toadies are closing. On ticketmaster it lists Toadies, Helmet in that order.

the video is creepy weird, really like it though.

Just got my ticket for Houston.
    The Ticket says:
HOB presents Toadies with special guest Helment.

There will also be a band before Helment called UME that will be playing some if not all of the dates.
