Wow, so hard to find PJ fans...Live a normal life, work, social...NO ONE gives a shit about PJ..So sad, I feel like i'm the only one who's a sick, hardcore fanatic..I come on here and it's all love but out in real world I can't meet one person who's down..I meet deadheads, DMB weirdos, Allmans fanatics, I meet more Korn (sic) fans than PJ ...Siiiiigggghh

Lady in front of me at a traffic light the other day had a PJ sticker on her vehicle(I also have 1) and I wanted to get out run over and introduce myself
I will walk w/my hands bound
I will walk w/my face blood
I will walk w/my shadow flag
Memories back when she was smooth and strong
and waiting for the world to come along...

Tata Toothy....
Thats the best part about going to a show.. the Pearl Jam cretins all come out of the woodwork...I'm gone ..Long gone..This time I'm letting go of it all...So long...Cause this time I'm gone0 -
I was in the supermarket yesterday with my EV tour shirt on and saw a guy with his Molson Canadian Pearl Jam shirt on and I asked him "Can I buy that off you? I wasn't able to get one at the show?". He just laughed.
they're out there, I think you just don't see a whole lot of people representing with shirts and stuff because of the generation. people who rocked out to music in the 60's are now in their 60's, and wearing a Dead shirt is almost a badge of honour, same with young kids and their emo or numetal shirts and stuff. But not a whole lot of people who were teens in the 90's wear rock shirts (except me).Gimli 1993

Unfortunately (in this case), a lot of fans travel for (sometimes) thousands of miles.
If there were more shows, fans wouldn't be forced to travel into other time zones. Sure, the concerts would probably have smaller attendance, but they'd be great ways to know people more in the local area.
There's pros and cons.
In terms of music, yeah. Pearl Jam is almost a relic of an era long ago. I mean, they take influence from The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Edwin Starr, The Beatles, etc. They prefer Polaroid cameras, typewriters, and records...and they're not rap or nu metal.
Other than "The Fixer", how many videos have they done lately? Jeremy, Alive, DTE, and not many more have received popular airplay.
(The above is all a good thing, yeah, but they're certainly not wanting the spotlight. It's part of the price for shunning the spotlight.)Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

I still wear rock t-shirts despite all the people over the years that would like to "make over" me

nope....we're in hiding out here in the real world or so it seems
one of the best things about going to shows (other than the music) is meeting up with fellow fans you only get to see at show time, preparties and hotels. gotta love it. i do!peace,

Sadly, Greece could use some gold right about now.

It would be easier if everyone here added where they live under their avatar! We don't all look good in rock tees!

This so very much drives me crazy as well. For me it's partly because I now live in a small town (remember that Lou Reed song...
) But still, I see a good variety of people and we get lots of tourists coming through here. I often wear one of my Pearl Jam buttons and no one NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON on the street, at work (and I work in a BOOKSTORE for cryin' out loud!) in restaurants... no where, no one, not one single soul has said a word about the band. I see somebody in the store that looks like they might be a PJ fan, I hum a few bars of Corduroy... nothing! IT'S CRAZINESS!
:fp: ... ...
but I keep trying and someday I'll bump into a fan in this sad little town...

We are the advance party, the trailblazers. We are the people tasked with spreading the word to those unfortunate people who have yet to be enveloped by the Jammerisation beauty. We, the PJ people, must overcome and ensure the non believers, the unknowers, have had their PJ fill to ensure the end of the musical world is not one filled with Britains got no talent and The bad voice. It is no surprise that the OP does not meet many off his fellow brethren as we are strategically placed around the globe to enhance the message of the enlightened ones. It is not a burden but a mission which we all must adhere to if we are to reach that epiphany in the land of Benaroya. I for one have been placed here in Belgium to assist my Belgian friends with the Jammerisation of the lowlands. It is a task I do not take lightly.
Go forward friends, spread the word. Ensure those around you who have yet to experience the music of the millenia do so and remember that you are the messenger and the loneliness is the price we pay for global happiness.
