...who do you want in net? Teams and systems aside, just your goalie. My vote goes to Martin Brodeur.

Edit: Any goaltender that has ever played is eligible.

Tretiak is often considered the greatest goaltender of all time. And I would probably agree. Though it's hard to pick them for this thread, as we never got the chance to see him play in the NHL. Plus the game has changed so much since then, and the position has changed so much. I'm not sure somebody like Tretiak would be able to cut it in today's game. But then again, maybe he could, especially with the bigger pads.

So for the sake of argument, and because it's just fun to think of Tretiak playing in the NHL... he's my boy.

Pretty easy to look great when you've got the best players in front of you year after year for your entire career.

I'll take Roy...won 2 cups in Montreal with average teams and 3 Conn Smyth Trophies. In '93 winning 10 overtime games in the playoffs.

Gordan: I have a great respect for all the people mentioned before but my vote would go to The Dominator. In choosing Dominik Hasek there is also "the Tretiak element", since Vlad The Great was Dominik's coach when he first came to NHL.
