I cant believe I missed the boat on these guys. Recently picked up all their studio albums and I am very pleased. Really good stuff here!

Big fan - seen 'em 3 times, but skipping this tour.

Was a little disappointed in the last album.

We Have the Facts..., Photo Album, Transatlanticism & Plans are all spectacular.

Airplanes & Stairs were pretty good too.

big fan. love everything theyve done. i like the sort of gritty first few albums, and then the progressively more pop, indie pop sound of their last 3 or 4 albums is great too. Plus the legendary Postal Service album, a sideproject with Ben Gibbard, the Death cab lead singer is among the best of the decade. stunning record. And Chris Wallas solo album Field Manual is great as well.

Ben Gibbard could be one of the most underrated lyricists of our generation. Such beautiful lyrics.

Its interesting, the last 2 death cab albums have been good but not great, and ben has been happily married the last 2 records, which make up the only 2 "happy souding" death cab records. now he's divorced so im wondering what the next album will sound like in that context.

Unfortunate for him, but maybe good for us.

A la Dave Grohl's divorce before making The Colour and The Shape, which I would say is his finest effort.

they just really have such a sense of melody, and coupled with the lyrics its so incredibly gorgeous. Company Calls Epilogue, that melody has ha'unted me for years, and the way Ben pauses in between the last few words of the verse each time "that i took...we so real" 'i'll catch..you this time".

The melody of Tiny vessels is so beautiful. The way it goes from loud, screaming, crashing instruments, to the vulnerable melody at "that you said you didnt want to fade, but they did and so did i that day...".

The melody on Title and Registration, i mean how can you not love that one!

Brothers on a Hotel Bed, has always had a huge place in my heart.

Summer Skin, makes me think about how i've wasted my life, calls me to cause.

I'd consider checking out the DVD's they have. They have one DVD where they filmed a video for each song on Plans, with a different director for each song. And they made a DVD after Trans, Sleep Carefully, Drive Well.

i'd say Trans and Plans are two albums that when i look back on my life, i can say they helped define my 20's. The self doubt, sadness, feeling lost, confused, scared, anxious, worried its all there.

Fantastic band, have liked them for a while. I've been meaning to see them live but they're one of those bands I just keep on missing cause dates where they have been near me haven't worked out for whatever reason!! Would have loved to have caught their show in Bethesda, MD a few days ago, and they just announced a show in NJ that I'd love to attend but I'm short on money right now :( Someday!

I think Death Cab is one of those bands that most people like. They are great, I saw them at Bumbershoot a few years back. Would love to see them again
