So which version did they do? Dylan's, Hendrix, or my personal favorite, the DMB version?

woot
That was at the St. Paul VFC show, which I would probably pick as the greatest concert I've ever seen. I went mostly because REM was playing, and was excited that Springsteen was on because I would have likely never seen him otherwise.
As was Neil's wont that tour, he was a 'surprise' guest. When REM was on, Michael Stipe casually introduced him (for Country Feedback!) and the place went nuts. I knew that Neil was popping up here and there on the tour, but for some reason it never crossed my mind that he'd be there, so it was a genuine surprise for me.
Neil was introduced again during the middle of Bruce's set and they played Souls of the Departed and Watchtower. With the election a month away, watching Bruce and Neil repeat 'Two riders were approaching' over and over at the end gave me chills, just as it did watching that video right now.
The end of that show was something I'll never forget. There were nine fucking guitarists on stage. Nine! You had Bright Eyes, REM, John Fogerty, Neil Young, and Bruce all on the same stage, all at once. They all played on RITFW, What's So Funny Bout Peace Love & Understanding, and People Have the Power. The crowd was blown away. *I* was blown away. It was an amazing, amazing night of music and one that I'm not sure will ever be topped.
you beat me too it! U2's version is great! maybe this was the way the boys are hinting at playing with U2 in dec...wishful thinking ps i dont get the DMB version at all and yes i have seen it live a few times! actually hate it
This WAS good. Thanks for putting it up.
