Always love to hear when this happens, and always upset about it too. The man asks the only question - how many others are out there in the same situation, but with slightly less vigilante lawyers or less attainable proof of their innocence? How many on death row? How many haven't been lucky enough to find that undeniable proof to show their innocence? ... In the end, I post this as an argument against the death penalty. One innocent man getting killed is too many. No argument for capital punishment justifies the risk IMHO.

Anyway, so glad this man is not too angry to enjoy his rediscovered life, and glad the man who seems to have actually committed the crime is already in prison... but very sad for the family of the girl he killed after an innocent man went to prison for his crimes. :(

Some jurisdictions pay the wrongly convicted up to $80,000.00 a year for each year served but obviously no way begins to make up for the lost time and probable tortures of serving a rape & murder sentence in prison. So sad that there are so many mindless prosecutors and judges simply hellbent on conviction without paying attention to the details.

Situations like this bother me too and I find it amazing, humbling even, how someone cannot turn hateful and bitter in all that time.

But (and since you brought up the death penalty), I will say that after watching a local news story about a man who raped and then stabbed to death his nine-year-old stepdaughter - along with many others of a similar nature - I have no problem taking out pieces of shit like this.

Maybe one day they'll release Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu-Jamal too. Another two wrongly convicted long-term prisoners. But I won't hold my breath.
