So apparently the guy (Wally De Backer) who does solo stuff under the name Gotye is also in a band in Australia called The Basics. Have y'all heard of them or, better yet, anyone ever seen them live? I can't stop listening! Their sound is totally different than a lot of the Gotye stuff; it's more '60s-style. Check them out at their website (where you can listen to all their songs and download their newest album for free) and on YouTube:

And I'll link you to a few of the songs I particularly like :D :

Cool! Let me know what you think. I actually haven't listened much to the free album yet because I haven't yet synced it to my iPhone or iPad after downloading it to my computer. I bought their other albums on iTunes & have had them on repeat - especially Get Back & Stand Out/Fit In. Plus, I'm really enjoying their videos on YouTube! :D

So just finally got the free album synced to my iPod and really listened to it. It was pretty good, but I was kind of disappointed. The other albums are WAY better - especially Get Back and Stand Out/Fit In. I definitely recommend getting those on iTunes, even if you didn't care much for the live album.
