That's a damn cool sneak peak. Nice to hear the hosts talk so positively about PJ. I've always felt they had an axe to grind against alot of early 90s rock, since hair metal is such a big part of their show. Only heard them talk a little about SG(one of the hosts hates them) and AiC and it kinda shocks me that Tool has never got so much of a mention on that show.
Nice that they put Mike on there with one of his very biggest idols as well.0 -

I agree, thats the first thing I thought of. Ok, so I just watched the sneak peek commercial for it online because I don't get vh1 classic, and they were talking about how Mike and Stone had part-jokingly discussed holding out on the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame until KISS is inducted. I know the boys are KISS fans, but didn't Gene Simmons pull a bunch of BS a few years back about how fans should burn PJ albums, etc. because he was upset about things the band said about Pres. Bush? Did I make that up? I seem to remember Gene Simmons being a total asshole in regards to the band. I guess I'm just surprised they would stick by him so much after the things he said, but then again, i'm not surprised PJ would take the high road, since they are a classy group of guys. Anyone?Rose Garden Arena - Nov 02, 2000, Key Arena - Oct 22, 2001, Key Arena - Dec 08, 2002, Key Arena - Dec 09, 2002, Clark County Amphitheater - Sep 26, 20090

VH-1 had something else on tonight.
Is it a different station than the one on cable?&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -
Yes, it's on VH1 classic. I don't have it anymore, but it's cable and on Comcast it was one of the channels in the 400's. It will probably be posted on the website soon after it airs tonight

Just saw this and it's only 9 minutes away! Preview I saw earlier on The Sky I Scrape looked pretty cool.
Thank you!

It's on 3 times Sunday for people like me who forgot to set their DVR!Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0

I'm sorry. I know it's not a competition or anything. But other than them saying that PJ will be a first ballot HOF band they acted like Mike was just a "lucky to be there" guest. Like the story where he had to contact and ask Eddie Trunk to be on the show.
Mike is way too humble and sweet. I'll bet his alter ego ... "Evil Mike" was sitting there thinking ... "you guys realize I have been selling out shows around the world for 21 years straight right?". Or "Hey dummies ... you understand you have a band member of Pearl Jam on your show right? You know that's rare right?"
It just bothers me how little they seemed to care about how relevant Mike or his band still is ... as far as still being able to headline top festivals ... release #1 albums (BS went #!) or how other "hard rock" bands (Anthrax, Megadeth ect...) respect them big time.
BTW ... Pearl Jam not only shows more passion and honesty when they perform than any of those garbage heavy metal/gimmicky hair bands they constantly have on the show ... they absolutely crush them live and in the community!!!!!
Rant over.

I watch TMS all the time - I'm not much of a metal fan, but I love the show nonetheless. These guys NEVER talk about most of the bands/artists I listen to on a regular basis, so when I watched the episode with Mike, I was worried about how he would be received. I think Mike did a GREAT job of bridging the 'respect' gap last night.
And I loved how Frank Hannon (guest guitarist from Tesla) said that he was honored to be on the show with BOTH Mikes!!I'll ride the wave where it takes me

If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -
I had a feeling this episode would go like this. I was a little bummed they didn't talk more about PJ, but we all knew Mike was mainly there to talk about his love for UFO and his cover band. I really liked the part where he told the hosts that all of the Seattle bands came from metal backgrounds, and listen I love heavy metal, and when I say heavy metal I don't mean that glam shit that grunge help put at end to, I mean old Metallica, Sabbath, Anthrax, Biohazard, and the list goes on. The guys respected Mike and gave him and the band props.
