The Doors LA Woman

I was recently at a Classic Albums Live show were they performed LA Woman, amazing show by the way.
But I've always been a casual Doors fan but after hearing this album specifically it blew me away, what an unreal album, every song was great. I gained a whole new appreciation from the Doors.
So I'm now just starting to dig into their work, not just the hits.
Anyone else love this album or have some recommendations they can through my way, thanks

Every album.... They only recorded 6 studio albums, and all of them are great. Have fun, I just may throw them on for a spin tonight myself...

  • Excellent album. Even though its a 'hit' - the album's closer is their swan song.

LA Woman is a great album. I get about two notes into The Changeling before I crank it up to 11. As far as other recommendations....someone said it. There's only 6 studio albums, get them all

    "Kfsbho&$thncds" - F Me In the Brain - circa 2015
  • Great album.
A group that after making a "psychedelic rock" album, ended up immersed in a rude and rough blues in LA Woman. Just listen "Cars Hiss by My Window" or "Crawling King Snake" (John Lee Hooker cover).

    Enjoy it.

When I think of LA Woman I think of Robin Ventura and the '99 Mets. Wish I still fit into my Mets Mojo Risin shirt.

    Yeah, get them all (non expanded) and then get the bonus tracks from the expanded series on itunes etc. They just released an LA Woman Sessions deluxe w/ alternate takes that are excellant. As far as live;
    at the Matrix
    in Detroit
    in Stockholm
    in New York
at the Aquarious are good shows too as well as the nice sober Pittsburgh.

Just picked this up on vinyl last week and have not had a chance to spin it yet. I will tonight now I think. I know what's in store, but not in all its vinyl glory.

Too be honest, I'm not a fan of any of the the most recent live albums they released. I thought Jim sounded like shit personally.

LA Woman - my favorite Doors album. Great stuff

I've been listening to Jim Morrisons American Prayer album all day. Wish Eddie did something like this Instead of the Uke album

Oh man, AP is a rare beauty.. I could only imagine him doing that back in the day, not now.. Would of been cool though.. I'm sure he's got some hidden stuff like that tucked away somewhere..
