RSD Leftovers Spotted

Stopped by a different shop today and they had a few copies of Empire Records and Flaming Lips Heady Fwends left. Also had the White Stripes single and Phish Junta but not the Pollock. There was some other singles but I can't really think of everything that I saw.

Empire was $25 and Flips Heady Fwends I think was $60 but I think I head the guy saying they will be bumping it to $70 or $80 since you can't find it. If anyone wants anything I'd be happy to grab it for you tomorrow since I will be back over in the area for cost, tax and shipping.

I think there were 2 Empires and no more than 3 of Flips and only one White Stripes.

$60 for Flaming Lips??? :shock: :shock: Mike grabbed me a copy when he was out & about early on RSD. i think he spent $37. Dallas seems to have a lot of copies of this.

Ran and grab a copy at $37...after I got home I checked eBay and $60 seems to be as low as it gets. Crazy but it's a pretty cool set. There isn't any labeling on it and all the vinyl's are dipped differently so no 2 are the same. But for $60 I'll pass until I get more familiar with all of their material.

It was either $20 or $25...not sure if that is overpriced or not?

That store is fleecing their customers, from the sounds of it. The owner of the shop right around the corner from me (so lucky to have on in a suburban neighborhood) told me he's getting more of the FL in and they won't be over $30. The WS are $9.99.

He's getting other goodies in too, but i'm not at liberty to discuss that.

The one no can get around here is the Gorillaz release.

It seems like a lot of stores are jacking up the prices on their RSD releases, which really sucks. My local store was selling the Flaming Lips album for $50 from the start. I know it's not that much more than the SRP, but it was enough to make me pass. I was really ticked off when I saw their price list after standing in line for hours.

That Empire Records is really tempting...it's the 1 thing I forgot to ask about on RSD.

It's a great soundtrack, and looks awesome on translucent gold vinyl. It was the only title I got since I didn't go out that day. I only want that and Brad, maybe Mike's too.

I purchased both, Empire Records and Pretty in Pink. Both are cool looking, but in terms of music, Pretty in Pink wins hands down.......

Ok I'll be PM ing everyone that asked me for stuff. I passed on a few things as they were overpriced ala the White Stripes at $20 but got a few things that people asked for.

Also saw a few copies of Foo Fighters Medium Rare for $40 which I thought was a pretty good deal.

just popped into CD Source here in Dallas. they still had 5-6 White Stripes 7" for $10, Grace Potter live LP for $12, plenty of Springsteen singles, Townshend, Uncle Tupelo...lots of good stuff. They had a ton of Brad & Flaming Lips a few days ago (Sunday), but now they're all gone.
