  • I saw a vinyl boot of Pearl Jam in Zurich 1992, the show were they are on a small little stage with acoustic instruments(they talked about it in PJ20). Anyway it said it was limited to one hundred copies and it came in a disc one and disc two format. Each was 35$ so I passed on it.
Go listen to John Frusciante right now!

It seems these vinyl bootlegs are popping up everywhere now. 15 years ago it was CDRs, and PJ boots cost $45 for inferior quality shows (more times than not). I believe now that it's en vogue to collect vinyl again (to the masses, nothing new to true collectors) scores of individuals are starting up bootlegging outfits to churn out these FM / SBD shows.

Be careful what you buy. It's no better quality (likely less so, in transfering from medium to medium) than the mp3s you already have. Even an FM broadcast touted as lossless is only superior in that there's no additional fidelity loss - FM by nature is already a lossy format.

Just don't pay too much for these things. Ever. They're not official and they're not collectible to anyone who knows what's up.

If you spend a ton of time near your turntable and love the shows, there's no harm in owning a couple.

My local record store got this in STL. Like others have said its an unofficial boot. I bought it for $22. It sounds pretty damn good but again like someone else said its not "lossless" format. With that being said I love spinning it and think it sounds great but wouldn't spend more than about $25 on it. Hope this helps.
