Post whatever bitching you have about PJ here. I've read threads about PJ not playing the South and they are now. I've read threads about general admission concerts instead 10c seating and that's what we have now. I mean, there's a lot of bitching that goes on here no matter what the band does.

I'll start it off with my first PJ bitch. In 2003 I was sitting second row right in front of Eddie in Albany. I rocked my ass off that night. He handed out his wine bottle but didn't give it to me? :? I'm still pissed to this day. He gave it to a couple right in front of me. I deserved that wine bottle.

I was pissed that it rained during day 1 of the PJ20 festival.
  • My bitch is that they won't play the set-up that's in your back yard, DS.
Oh, and at the ACL festival I saw Ed slide through the mud right in front of me and he just slid past, ignoring my need to have a meet and greet right then and there with him.

    Great thread :-)

People deserve a break. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't remember a thread titled "Please Pearl Jam play two 2 hour festival shows on the same weekend in the South". I also don't think people wanted GA festival shows.

Thank you for this venue to air my grievances.

 this seems to be half of the people on here...

And since when does this band do anything other than what they want to do? I didn't know they only played areas that we demanded...where's that Iowa thread so I can bump it...
Just kidding. But seriously, they are playing the south because they wanted to, not because they've read all the pages of "insert your own please play here thread and only for 10c members w/no GA".

1998...Hartford...Eddie called for the crowd to rush the stage. I joined in and dislocated my shoulder at that show. Great concert but how can you be so irresponsible Eddie? You should have called for each individual fan by fan club number to come down in an orderly manner.

Not a grievance really, but I will frame my thoughts this way: it's been 6 years since I've been to a full-blown PJ show (Vegas/L.A. '06). With a job paying almost half of what I was making 6-8 years ago, 2 kids going into college in the next 1-2 years, and other typical life events that hit you in the pocket from time to time, I'm not able (and maybe even not as willing) to plunk down the kind of money it would take for me to travel with friends or family to a "destination" show, especially across country. I don't blame the band or 10C for this situation - as much as I'd like to see closer shows/longer tours, cheaper tickets, and better ticketing systems, it's their prerogative to tour wherever and whenever they want - and being not much younger than they are, and with children much older, I can see why 250+ days a year of recording and touring may not be their biggest priority anymore...

That being said, my only wish would be that we had a little more time between announcements and on sale dates, or something similar to the tour announcing and mail-in days of old. I know, I know...it's a digital world of instantaneous communication we live in with all the "tweeting" and "Facebook'ing" - but some way of doing things, so that those in similar circumstances as I, and for probably a pretty good chunk of the fan base - a little more planning and saving could be done, and we'd maybe be able to get to at least one show every 2-3 years. I understand with smaller tours, festival/destination shows, and the legal obligations that may come with that, the "old way" of doing things might not work - but I think there's some things that could be tweaked with the current structure to make it a little easier to see a show and maybe save everyone a buck here and there! :)

From a Sept. 1992 Guitar World interview with Stone and Mike:

GW: Does your awareness that you've sold over a million records change the way you perform?

GOSSARD: Well, I've always felt pressure to play well live and to be in a great band, so it hasn't really changed things that much. The only thing that affects me is when they charge a lot of money for the show. We've made it a point to try and keep our ticket costs down, but you really want to put on a good show for someone who's paid 20 bucks for a ticket. That's pretty expensive. So I feel responsible in that sense.

It wasn't that warm when I was in LA to see PJ in October of 09. Can we move future LA dates a little more into the summer months PJ and 10c in the future. I think it's bullshit I needed to wear jeans to the concert.
