I was looking through my ticket stubs and I guess I saw them in 2004 at Irving Plaza in NYC. I have no recollection of that show.

Looking forward to this show actually tonight.

Ever since the PJ shows in philly.  I've been in a funk of going to concerts. Passed on a couple decent shows in the past few weeks (War on Drugs/National, MMJ and Nathaniel Rateliff, and Vampire Weekend last night). Been really looking forward to this show however.

They are like og (I know everyone says this) keeping rock n roll alive. Their shows always sell out, they still bring the energy, their videos are always interesting and inventive. I remember the big rivalry was The Hives, The Strokes and The Vines. I remember that peaked at the Vmas when they did a "battle of the bands" I'd never checked out The Vines albums past "Highly Evolved" , The Hives always had my ear more, if they have a new album, I'm getting it because you know like a Motorhead or Ac/dc album there will be plenty of tasty riffs and witty lyrics.

Pretty sure the BIG rivalry was between The Hives and The Cardigans - with The Hives stealing money from The Cardigans and going to court.

And...they new music is echoing a lot of people sentiments to the state of the world....

I know I am reading into too much... they've never claimed to be a political band ..AND their new album is called "The Hives Forever Forever The Hives" and the album cover is them dressed as kings...you'd have to be crazy not to see the parallels.
