The X-Files. It's my new project. In my entire life I've seen maybe 1 episode. For 10 years or so I've been trying to make it a point to watch the shows and movies, but it's a pretty daunting prospect. Nine seasons and two feature films is a lot to watch. I'm 5 episodes in and enjoying it though. I'm hoping I can get it done in less than the 9 years it took for the show to run its course.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the show goes downhill after about season 4 or 5. It's a perfect example of a show that went on for far too long. Season 1 was Ace though.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the show goes downhill after about season 4 or 5. It's a perfect example of a show that went on for far too long. Season 1 was Ace though.
I've heard that. I know at some point Duchovny pretty much leaves the show (save some appearances) and the liquid Terminator guy joins the cast. Even as somebody who didn't watch the show I was like "really?" with that move. And I've heard that the second movie, which I think came out years after the show was over, is almost unwatchable. I don't know, I might have to cut my project short if it becomes too unbearable, but I do at least want to see the good years. I've felt like I've been missing out on a lot of conversations and jokes/references over the years. I can't believe I never saw that much of the show, I was a teenager when it first came out (13 actually) and it was huge at the time. I remember everybody talking about it, but I wasn't much of a TV watcher at the time save for reruns of old shows. I mainly kept my TV on the movie channels and Nick At Nite.

Yeah I was kind of the same way, too. I think I caught up when it was at it's peak though, but I was a little behind and watched a lot of reruns. My parents, brother and sister were all into the show before I started to watch it. The show actually started to sour when they stopped filming in Vancouver, BC and moved the shooting location to Los Angeles. And I remember thinking at the time that it wouldn't be the same again, and it wasn't. It was around this time that Duchovny left, as well.
"The liquid terminator guy," lol. Yeah I didn't watch after Duchovny left, except for one episode that he came back and guest starred in.
Cancer Man was a deadly character.
