A Moving story....

A young girl, aged 30, sadly died on Sunday when finishing the London marathon. She was raising money for the Samaritans and had raised around £400 before the race. Due to the media coverage and an outpouring of public sympathy Claire Squires has now raised over £350000.
As a veteran of 3 London marathons and having raised a few thousand pounds for charity myself this story is quite close to my heart, but its also a great example of how social networks and the media can work for good....

It depends how you look at it.. its also a great thing..I mean, none of the people that have donated would have known about her....so true its sad but it would never have happened otherwise. I think its just a sign of how a story like this can touch people and it snowballed...
current total stand at 735k... apparently Samaritans will be the money into a trust in her name....
