Some mornings

if we could capture those moments in a clear vial
(for safe keeping)
we'd have that yellow sparked morning
or the fog that drifts, crawling white like 200 hundred years ago
if we could stop the cars and leave the flow of traffic
to stand in awe instead
I'd tilt my head to look from different angles
open heart, open head
I'd absorb in awe the haze filtered field
it always catches me at 8am as I competently speed by
I notice that's the most moistly fertile time of day
(there must be spirits out there)
on the grass hidden, or by the lake
it's such a big silver lake!
I feel they must like such places
(and so do I)
but drive on, I do
trying not to get distracted
at least, not SO much as to crash
there are usually a lot of vehicles speeding by
and I just try
to enjoy my morning drive by noticing
the beautiful start of the day
