Article on Long Wave Economic Cycle

One of the more interesting articles I've read in a while.
I find the speculation around the 16 vs 18 sub "Kitchin" cycles to be very odd indeed.
Is this just happenstance\correlation ... as in ... economies, over the long haul just sort of find themselves going through roughly 16-18 smaller cycles before bottoming out ... or is there something more fundamental to it. Seems odd for an economist to spend a good portion of their work revising the theory down from 18 to 16. Seems like splitting hairs. But who knows.
Either way, the whole K-Wave theory is pretty intriguing,
and even more so, i found the article authors point on the economic importance of the Old Testament Jubilee Cycle to be VERY interesting. I've never heard anyone relate Jubilee to ECONOMIC theory before, only that it was sort of a God-Mandated period of debt-forgiveness \ land-returning \ slave-freeing intended for sort of humanitarian \ religous reasons. The implication that the ancient Jews understood something about economic cycles and essentially were just correcting for this in one fell swoop is quite an intriguing theory.
Perhaps we do indeed need a Jubilee?
