I agree. There is plenty of time. I have always thought he would be back and while no one here agrees with me, I agree with the Yankees decision and don't think it would have been a good fit for his first job. I do think he'll be back.
i'm sure he'll be back for old timers days...with his multiple dodger world series rings :P
I'd like that, too much pressure on him if he went back to manage the Yanks. Also any sports reporter who bad mouthed him, i would then have to hunt down and kill.

I'm not sure the Yankees are the type of team or market you hire someone without previous experience. Fortunately he's getting that experience in the minor leagues...I mean National League.

Agreed, especially him, if he failed it would have been miserable.

It would be career suicide if Mattingly does ever come back if any of the NY writers started knocking Mattingly.

Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.
Happy Birthday Donny! I missed your playing days but you're a Yankee everyone loves.

My best Yankee moment. I rank it right there with Posada's double against Pedro. Just look at that crowd after the homer...the beer being thrown around. Magical. I remember jumping around like an idiot after this homer.
The softball episode is one of the best SImpsons episodes ever.
yep definitely in my top 5 fav episodes ever.
