Don't do stuff like this but figure I can get a playlist goin and maybe fill in some gaps in the collection.

Gettin' ready for a few days of all day driving in the next few weeks for vacation to Disney World with the whole clan. What are some quintessential pieces of music I need.

3 adults and 3 small kids with great taste in music in the car....

Springsteen must be good for a road trip. Particularly "Born to Run" and "Darkness on the Edge of Town".

A live PJ show... duh 8-).

Or how about this: make a playlist before you leave. Everyone gets to add a certain amount of songs, and then you just shuffle the playlist. Its fun to see which songs come up and will help pass the time.

for the kids, depending how old some disney music-

meatloaf - bat out of hell is a good driving album. well it it, but i mean a good album to drive to.

can't think right now, just awake, but something you can all sing to (loud) when you need a pick me up, for example - bohemian rapsody by queen.

Bob Dylan & The Band--Before The Flood

easily one of the best live albums ever, in my opinion. we tend to listen to a lot of live albums on roadtrips...here are a few more.

Neil Finn & Friends--7 Worlds Collide
    My Morning Jacket--Okonokos
    PJ--LO2L
    Radiohead--Live in Glastonbury
    Bjork--Live Box
    I LOVE MUSIC.

  • I love Led Zeppelin for the road. I just put on my "boxed set" albums and hit the shuffle button.

I also love Silverchair for the road too. Young Modern Station is a nice album. Some think it's a terrible album but I really enjoy it. Listen to it all the time from Indy back up the the Region.

Into The Wild is always the first album we listen to for a road trip.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Something about this album just reminds me of the spring and sunny days :D . If you haven't heard it or haven't listened to it in awhile, do yourself a favor and check it out. I recently did and suddenly remembered why I loved the album back in the day. Enjoy!

I would second this. They have such a great catalog.

Before the Frost... Until the Freeze would be a superb choice of their albums to take with.
