the ashtray is full
and so are my lungs
with the poison you sold me
climb my ladder....no rungs

I'm a blur
a vibration
a buzzing honey bee

I am sure
a temptation
deaf, dumb, and can't see

take a step
it's 10 miles
these shoes lost their soul
just one sip....been a while

the poison you sold me
is what would cure me, you told me
the poison you sold me
is what would cure me, you told me

the glass is half full
but so are my veins
with the poison you sold me
opened up...let me drain

    yeah, most of the lyrics I write have a certain melody in mind. so I'd call most of my writing "songs" rather than poetry.
