there are lots of great songs out there that for one reason or another didn't make their respective albums. Recommend one or several here that others may or may not know about, and if possible, a link to purchase/download said song.

I'll start.

Probably my favorite Radiohead song is 'How Can You Be Sure?' which was a b-side from The Bends but not on the album. Brilliant song.

not sure exactly what constitutes as a non-album track, but here are some that i really like that could fit

bright eyes - trees get wheeled away, cartoon blues
    oasis - headshrinker
    of montreal - no conclusion
notorious b.i.g. - one more chance (remix)
    my morning jacket - cobra,

tyrone - the erykah badu and my morning jacket version. (neither made an 'album', both are great)

I interpret it as any song not on an official studio album. If it's on a b-sides compilation (Lost Dogs, Pisces Iscariot), it can count. i also thought that singles (I Got Shit) and move soundtracks could be used.

I think it'd be anything that would go on a Lost Dogs type compilation.

I also include stuff from albums that got released later. Like with one of the Black Crowes tunes, the album was recorded back in the 90s but it didn't get put out til early 2000s. It felt closer to a b-sides or greatest hits type release than a standard "here's our new album" type of thing. I guess to simplify it, I included archival releases.

I slapped some EP material in here too, but I think there's certain cases where that works and where it doesn't

Good call with the Beatles. To think: We Can Work It Out, Rain, HEY JUDE, She Loves You, Paperback Writer and tons of others were left off of albums. And technically Strawberry Fields & Penny Lane were left off of Sgt Peppers (a choice that George Martin to this day royally regrets)

and for Floyd: See Emily Play and Arnold Layne count here too.
