Austin, TX, Police officer T. Griffin pulled a gun at a resident without any explanation and shot an innocent Australian Cattle Dog that belonged to the resident BEFORE finding out that he was at the wrong address! WTF!!???

What is wrong with the police these days? It seems that they forgot we the human can have a means to communicate before pulling a gun or pepper spray against un-armed victims. Using a weapon should be the last result, not the first action. There has not been any apology to the owner for killing his beloved dog, and there has not been any action against the officer Griffin.
I know being a police officer is a dangerous job, but he himself should not be a danger to the society.
I have Australian cattle dogs, and I am so ourtaged!!
RIP Cisco!

My feelings of sadness for the family who lost their furry loved one run deep.
And no apology? That's disgraceful.

I'm having good thoughts for you brother...

I understand that being a cop is a dangerous job, but they should learn the common sense and courtesy first before being given a gun to hold! Austin is such a liberal city with the strong no-kill movement as a city. One cop's "mistake" (mildly put) should not destroy their reputation, but they should know people are watching how they handle this.
The owner made the Justice for Cisco page.

He put the video that he took right after Cisco was shot. It is the sad and upsetting video with the cop just not doing anything.
Don't we have a language for reason??
APD police chief apologizes for dog shooting

AUSTIN -- Since an Austin Police Department officer fatally shot a seven-year-old blue heeler named Cisco, the phones haven't stopped ringing at APD. The department has received hundreds of emails with comments such as, "Get that officer off the street," and "Do police no longer have a protocol for escalating to deadly force?" Another email says, "Shoot a man's dog here in Texas and you'll have a storm at your door." "I'm just overwhelmed at the responses we've gotten," said Cisco's owner Michael Paxton

What is creepy about this is it is created by a "government official." The government officials deleted all negative comments that are against his/her view. When you go back in time, there are articles targetted the breed that this government official gathered. Can a governemnet official make such FB page without revealing who it is? Do you think it is fair to the Austin citizens who have cattledogs to find that their government official is totally against the breed of dogs that you have?
I posted a very polite comment on this government official's page, asking who s/he is, which office s/he holds, and if the government knowingly allowed him/her to create such public page as a "government official." Sound fair questions, right? Of course, the government official deleted it. Coward!
