This sucks, especially since he lost a lot of his collection when his house burned down a few years ago.

    The guy has no luck with his guitars apparently. Does Mike still have the Rickenbacker that Petty gave him? Maybe he could reciprocate the kindness and give it back to the guy.

    Bummer. That's twice Tom has had pretty poor luck with the fate of his guitars. Those things can be really sentimental to a musician...

    Man... Every time I see footage of Tom Petty concerts, I nearly (and I apologize for the crudeness in advance) blow my load seeing the beautiful guitars that come out at the beginning of seemingly each track. As a guitar player, that just breaks my heart. Mine aren't even worth that much but I would be in tears if my Telecaster were taken from me.

    Wow. Just saw this. I hate thieves! I have seen Tom in concert and he really did have a different guitar every other song or so. His music is amazing. It really isn't about the money-- he could buy any guitars he wanted to. They are irreplaceable because of sentimental reasons.

    Dumb ass had $100,000 worth of guitars and pawned one for $250.

    He could face a serious sentence based on the estimated price, yes?
