If you're referring to the recently released "Last Words"... shit yes it is good. Damn good, in my opinion. But, I'm a believer that Mark Lanegan had, and still has the Midas Touch.

If you're a Trees fan get it. You will not be disappointed.

  • Yeah if you're referring to Last Words, definitely buy it. Granted Lanegan has made it clear that the songs were recorded separately from one another as demos and as such not with the intent of making a full fledged album. That said, the album actually flows well considering how the songs were recorded. Most of the demos themselves have been on the net for years--it was actually the songs that we had never heard before that stole the show for me (Door Into Summer, Black Rose Way, Reflections, Last Words). They all represent a nice progression for the band while still capturing their vintage sound. The song Last Words is probably one of the best swan songs I've heard....would have been a shame if the band decided not to release these tunes.
