It is great to see an example of a long running band show that they still enjoy making music together. Wish we had ONE more band that did this.

    3 Nightmares in a row.

    This news is awful.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

Picked up tickets to see them in Portland, ME on January 25th. I have always liked their live shows. Not sure how the album trilogy will go, but they will have released the last one in January, so I will get to see how most of the new material translates live.

Rolling Stone actually gave the first album Uno a pretty good review. Said it has a very punk feel to it and is reminiscent of their early 90's sound. No concept stuff and pretty much sticks to the basics. Kinda excited to hear it.

Yeah, you can preview a few tracks on Spotify. They are reminiscent of their older sound, but definitely not Dookie. "Let Yourself Go" is solid. I am excited to hear the album too.

    I actually love Uno....like all green day records....its fun.....except 21st Century Breakdown...I hated that.

So hopefully Dos and Tre will be good.

  • I like it. I've always had a soft spot for Green Day....First saw them in a small club and they were great, Then WS'94, my sons first concert was GD, Seen them live 4-5 times and always a good time...( A little bit too much back and forth with the crowd at times)...but make up for it by letting kids on stage and even play along with them, etc...

Uno is pretty good, After a listen, I went back to "Let yourself go" first....
If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?
  • Purchased 'UNO' the day of release. Actually, downloaded it off Amazon for $5.00 :) I like it more than I had expected to....not bad at all. Additionally, not a bad price either. :D

Got it for $5 on Amazon too and I really like it. "Kill The DJ" is a really terrible song but I like all the rest of it.

Got to download the whole album for free through Ticketmaster because I bought tickets to see them in January. Thought that was pretty cool. Digging the album except for Kill the DJ and Sweet 16. The rest is very good. Highlights are:

    Carpe Diem
    Nuclear Family
    Rusty James
    Let Yourself Go

I really think the albums will be cool to listen to as a trilogy once they're all released. I heard them say that's how they intended them. They said the 1st was supposed to be old school like you're getting ready to go to a party, the 2nd is you're at the party going crazy/having fun, and the 3rd is the aftermath of the party, more epic.

Apparently ¡Quatro! is on its way as well...
Green Day have announced plans for the release of ¡Quatro!, the fourth instalment in their '¡Uno!', '¡Dos!', '¡Tre!' series.

¡Quatro! is a behind-the-scenes documentary, directed by Tim Lynch, and will premiere next year. Highlights from the movie will be shown at midnight on VH1 in the United States on November 28.

The film looks at the process behind the band's album trilogy as well as showing footage from the band's Stateside shows, reports Rolling Stone.

Mike Dirnt, the band's bassist has said: "¡Quatro! brings our fans one step closer by giving them even more access and revealing what it was like for us to make these records."

Green Day recently cancelled all their scheduled live appearances for the remainder of 2012 and early 2013 after frontman Billie Joe Armstrong checked into rehab.

The albums '¡Uno!' and '¡Dos!' are out now, with '¡Tre!' to follow on December 10.
