i would hope no one takes any of it seriously. I think of dave as being as much a family man and good guy as he is a musician. He's probably way more the former than the latter, and i mean that as a compliment. He's been married for years, has several kids. Dave isnt the type of guy who would cheat. You all saw back and Forth. And we know how dave is. There was a thread on this forum maybe a year ago, where someone said Dave was full of himself and egotistic. Im not sure where these people are getting their information, or who they are talking about but I dont get the sense the Foo Fighters tour bus is filled with groupies, and drugs and all that type of stuff. Even when Taylor was using i dont think he was doing so in full view of the band. The Foo's have never been that band.

If there was evidence to back up Courtneys claim, then fine. But of course, there isnt. In fact all the evidence suggest otherwise. That dave is just as he's always been: a kind, funny guy who doesnt take himself seriously or his job, and who is the nicest guy in rock. I have no problem with artists who refuse to give autographs, or talk to fans. I get that attitude. but i get the feeling, as long as he wasnt with his wife or kids, you could walk up to him and chat with him and have a good laugh. every interview, tv show appearance, fan encounter, media report, and his multi decade music career prove this

ive always been quite impressed with frances. Youd expect and allow her to be a wreck and a mess because of her past. But she's always been very articulate, intelligent and has a great head on her shoulders. Even in her early teens, she was giving interviews and seemed wise beyond her years. I can see her pursuing art in the future.

you are an intelligent person, ive known you on this board for years. how you could go from generic music to that he's a liar, adulterer, philanderer, all around bad guy is kind of ridiculous and a thing of wonder. No ones pretended the foos were anything other than what they are. Lets face it, Dave could never go the way of Fugazi considering how famous Nirvana was, and how the band ended. His next musical venture was going to be huge no matter what it was. The fact its commercial rock-pop or pop rock really has no bearing on it. Their music certainly has touched a chord with quite a few folks. Anyone who can write Everlong deserves praise into eternity.

Considering how much of Dave's life has been in the public sphere. From his days in a punk bands, to Nirvana, to the Foo's thats as I said 2 decades plus in music. Ive never heard one report other than this of him being anything other than the nice guy hes always assumed to be.

he's married, has kids, and is an all around good guy. Until someone suggests otherwise thats how he should be viewed, and thats how i want to view him as. Its kind of like Jeter in baseball. If someone like that is on steroids it sort of ruins everything good in terms of baseball, or if pujols was found to be using. it would be outrageous and world shifting. To think of dave as a cheater, liar, jerk, that certainly would be a sad day if anyone of that was true.

whoever posted saying there are worse things he could do, thats silly. i dont think the subtext is that dave had a relationship with a grown frances. the subtext is, he had a relationship with frances, while she was younger. Both Dave and Frances are married. Dave has kids. When this supposed affair took place you'd have to believe both cheated on their spouses. given the track record of both parties, that seems unlikely and out of character.

Its just so out of character, thats why i am surprised so many people seem to be insinuating its true. Has everyone been asleep during dave's entire music career? what do you all think he does? uses coke on the bus in between groupie visits?

as far as i know the foos have a pretty family friendly tour and recording process.

I have no problem with the success, just the mostly boring music and the passes he gets for kinda obnoxious behavior, the Grammy speech :? , the drummer/guitarist situation in the Foo's, phony persona..... It's quite the jump from this stuff to adulterer, but I'm not so naive to think that Grohl hasn't done his share of the rock star life, and that's makes that jump a little easier.

I guess the way I came to my opinion on him is the same way you and everybody else on this board has, from his public appearances. There was a time when I found him entertaining and still do from time to time, but it got to a point where it seemed he was trying to live up to his image, and Godamn!!! write a different song. The Foo Fighters music has gotten worse and worse and it's seriously now as bad as anything Nickelback puts out but because he was the drummer in Nirvana he doesn't get called out on it. The same people who liked the last Foo Fighters album will tell you they hate Nickelback yet that album was so horrible and generic that they are actually listening to a Nickelback'esk band and they don't even know it or want to admit it to themselves. Complete and utter garbage. All he wants to do is write catchy hit songs and try to win Grammy's........I fully expect to see him in a reality TV show in the next 2 to 3 years.

Frances Bean Cobain has responded to her mother Courtney Love's recent Twitter rant accusing Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl of hitting on her 19-year-old daughter.

"While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn," says Cobain. "I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy. Twitter should ban my mother."

Grohl also shot down Love's accusations. "Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant," he said in a statement released late yesterday. "These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."
