I was thinking the same thing. The U.S. is a great place in many ways. But it's like the rest of the world- it has good people and not so good people. It has places I love seeing and places I don't care to see again.
I guess I'm more of a community or planetary kind of person- macro or micro. I don't understand political boundaries. Geographic boundaries make more sense. Regional makes more sense to me. If it weren't for political boundaries, unless you're crossing a river or an ocean or you come across another tribe, you would never know you're going from one state or country into another.
Community makes more sense to me than state or nation.

the usa? it aint so bad. it could be worse. it could be all arkansas or something
the united states of arkansas
the united states of nebraska

Ah, Tijuana!
Haven't been there in years but visited as a child with my family many times.
Nice folks for the most part but oh man, the poverty - I remember driving by so many cardboard shacks, one after the other, and finding it unfathomable that anyone - entire families, no less - lived in them.
Then there were (maybe still are?) the donkeys painted like zebras. Holy hell. I even have a photo of me with one
There's a dude that periodically drives through our neighborhood, blowing his horn - it's to the tune of "La Cucaracha". Reminds me of Tijuana every time I hear it.
I'd love to have a horn like that someday.0 -

there's the dude with zero legs. a headband and some military looking jacket on. he's begging for scraps day in and day out with his daughter. he's sitting on a wooden thing with wheels. the children nearby are selling homemade string puppets that are so badass it is ridiculous. $7 zarpes and they are awesome and all day long. im like why the hell do they need wool blankets and wool ponchos? 100 trillion pesos = $3for poetry through the ceiling. in our past the borders may not have been quite so definitive but they were there. they were more fluid dependent upon who was doing the conquering but they were there. oh and as you know borders dont stopped anything when theres something someone wants, especially when you can just fly right over them.. wherever the hell they are.. or just plain ignore them.hear my name
