Btw, the only time I ever thought turtles were gross was at the Philadelphia Zoo. The large turtles like 80-90 pound turtles were going at it very slowly and loudly one afternoon while my friends and I were walking through the reptile house.
Let's just say it was a sight and a sound I never want to experience again, but yet strangely I could turn away from watching them mount one another.- Busted down the pretext

Exactly!! Unfortunately the new Camaro will be about 2 years away from actually being in the driveway. Hopefully though two years from now I will atleast have it ordered!! Although I will be going to see it again in a few weeks with my buddy from GM. Hopefully he'll take us for a spin in it this time!0 -
Don't ever talk shit about my turtle. Beyond deal breaker.0

Barely Alive wrote:What kind of turtle do you have Lew? I found my turtle by a local lake when I was about 5. She was pretty much a hatchling, making her 27 yrs old this coming Oct. NE Painter. Thought for the longest time the she was naturally a "he" and named accordingly haha.
Dude that is an awesome story!
I rescued mine (a box turtle) from an oil refinery last spring.
She had all kinds of mung on her and was in bad shape.
Her shell was discolored and peeling...a total mess.
I spent over $100 (don't tell my wife) at the vet having her checked out a few times.
I read up on the Internet, cleaned her up proper, and built a big pen out of cedar outside in my back yard for her. I landscaped the whole thing with stuff she can eat and flowers. She is really doing well now.
I made an area in the pen for her to hibernate in and last winter and she took right to it. It was cool to see her come up once the weather broke.
I'm a big nature freak and try to teach my kids to respect it too. The turtle is good for them. They don't ever touch it, but they help me take care of it and watch it do its thing.
Do you keep yours in a big tank Sean? That is such a cool story man. Turtles can live for a long time too if they're cared for properly.
You all can picture me at 6am every other morning chopping up all kinds of fruits and vegetables and then going outside and cutting up worms to add to her "health salad" to feed her. It is a lot of work.It might sound queer, but it’s cool to watch her eat...she looks like a dinosaur or something. Maybe tomorrow I might set up some army men around her to see if she stomps them.
I was denied a lot as a child and I'm trying to make up for it now.support The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
