I would love to camp, but I just don't think it's feasible or worth it to lug camping stuff cross country for just one night.

I mean yeah we'd get to the motel from night 1 really late, but why would we have to leave at 12 for day 2. I mean if it's a 2 & a half hour ride out and our tickets are predetermined, why couldn't we leave like 2 or 3 in the afternoon for night 2.

Mike and I were talking about this - its $30 to park at the Gorge to be able to drink. Why not just get a camping spot for Sat/Sun and that way you don't have to leave at noon? It's the same price. Then after the show Sunday we head back to Seattle and go to the airport and wait for our flights?

You can check two bags when you fly - my tent sleeps three comfortably and will fit in a bag that can be checked. I'm offering to bring my tent, all you'd need is something to sleep on.

I'm thinking of bare minimum for camping: small tent if possible, sleeping bag, and tarp (for shelter and what not). Figure anything else is just overkill. Well clothes and toiletries of course :)

I am so confused as to what is going on...hahaha! I guess I should have read the last couple of pages more clearly! I am staying in a hotel from Thursday night to Sunday night! Are you all camping certain nights and not staying in a hotel? Am I the only one in the hotel boat?

Yes, but that's 3 people. There's like a dozen of us. I'm sure other people won't want to just sleep under the stars especially on the offchance it rains.

As for the 12 person van thing, I thought that was reneged a few days ago. Because people are flying in and out on different days and I'm sure people will want to explore Seattle in the one day we have before the shows and everyone may not agree so I'm guessing 2-3 cars will be needed.

It's going to be very hard to get everybody on the same page and to agree to everything when only 3 or 4 people are on the board at any one time. What we just need to do for now is get tickets and airfare. Everything else will work itself out in the next 4 months. I'm sure we'll have a chance to meet and discuss everything either in person or maybe set up an aol chatroom for everyone in the next week or so.

Look, I'm not trying to make this trip more expensive then it has to be, but I'm just being realistic. It's a lot easier traveling in groups of 3 or 4 then in a group of a dozen people.

Camping seems to be the most reasonable way to me with travel time and expense as well as gas prices. Plus get to enjoy the great outdoors. When will I ever be out in god's country again?

I'm just offering my thoughts on how getting tents and stuff out to Seattle would work. I know my tent will only benefit two other people, I'm just trying to help out for those that would like to camp and show how it could be done.

I agree with the smaller group bit - I can't even imagine all of us doing the same things at the same times and following each other around like sheep.

Thinking about the money issue, it just seems like you'd be burning more money by going from Seattle to the Gorge, back to Seattle, back to the Gorge then back to Seattle. Camping would save a tank, maybe even two of gas. Not to mention camping would be cheaper than a hotel - plus you get to do a lot more exploring and what not around the Gorge that you otherwise wouldn't have if you drive back.

You and your boyfriend going to camp out?? ;)

Damn show is over 3 months away and I'll all revved up about it, kinda like last year with Philly at the end of the tour.

Remind me to smack you when we're in Vegas! :)

I don't know what that jackass is doing. For some reason now all the sudden I cant get back into the Goods section of the 10C site so if Im going to the 2nd show, I'll have to harrass him to get the tickets again.

Ahh that sucks... I'm waiting to hear from jimmy on whether he's going to both shows or not.

And I totally agree with the 3 or 4 or 5 person groups, there is no way we'll be able to decide as 12 people what we all want to do nor should we. It will be a great time in seattle and the Gorge no matter what we do... Personally I think camping makes sense both time and moneywise, as long as its not that much of a hassle getting a tent or sleeping bags there. Think I might wait till tomorrow to change my flight just to make sure I have tickets.

Julie is doing her civic duty and handing out beers to runners at the Boston Marathon who just gave up on the race a few miles from the finish.

This is an awesome idea. I camped before Noblesville 2003 and it was awesome. I wouldn't want to do every night but making the 3-hour drive, each way, two days in a row is a bit much.

Danielle, camping before Pearl Jam is very YIELD and you'd love it, I promise! Chrom & I will grill for all you fine ladies.

So I just had this really fucking crazy idea.

July 15 - Fly to San Francisco, see show.
    July 16 - See show.
July 17 - Tour San Fran
    July 18 - See show.
July 19 - See Giants game.
July 20 - Fly to Seattle.
July 21 - Continue trip as planned.

For me to fly from BWI to San Fran to Seattle is only $520 roundtrip - that isnt too bad
