I was going to post something about "if that's true, I'll eat my own ass" if Black Sabbath were on the line-up from the original post. Glad I didn't...

Sabbath at Lolla just seems so wrong to me in so many ways.

It would have worked 25 years ago. But I dont expect nostolgia acts to headline Lolla.
Perhaps if they added blue oyster cult and it was a black and blue reunion show! ;)

Line up is solid. Best since 07, agreed about Black Sabbath though. Not sure what kind of crowd they will draw.
This line up also has the best potential for "lolla after" shows in years. Im thinkin, Black Keys again someplace small on Thursday night. Jack White will certainly play somewhere unusual as well..... The Shins, Alabama Shakes also perfect for an after show.....

People are seriously complaining about/questioning one of the best, biggest, and most influential bands of all time headlining? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Lolla isn't the alternative wonderland that it was 20 years ago and if Pearl Jam can pull enough people to headline, there's no question that Sabbath can.

what do you mean by safe? because the headliners ensure 250,000 people will pile into the park for the weekend vs. having some no name headliners resulting in 75,000???

it's all about $'s and cents

Oh I'm not questioning that Sabbath can bring those numbers in...I love Sabbath...I'm questioning their choice to play Lolla.

Interesting lineup....a few bands I'd like to see. I'll wait until the schedule comes out and possibly buy a single day ticket for one of the days.

Have you heard ozzy sing recently? Its not good. Thats what Im talking about. As iconic as BS may be, that is going to be as canned a rock show as there ever was.

Peppers played in 06', guess that means we could be seeing a Pearl Jam show in 13'......start the rumors.

I've heard he's been better recently.

95% of bands big enough to play a show as big as Lolla have a "canned" show.

Regardless of Ozzy's condition or how rehearsed their show is, a Black Sabbath reunion is as big a draw as you could ask for.

No doubt, probably bigger than a soundgarden or janes reunion. It just strikes me as a poor choice, musically.

Sabbath was supposed to do Coachella, but due to health concerns, the pulled-out 4 days before the line-up was to be announced.....Dr. Dre and Snoop was a very last minute booking to replace them.
